logo_ycsoRimrock AZ (May 14, 2013) – On May 12, 2013, at approximately 10 AM, a man pulled up to the Montezuma/Rimrock Fire Station and when contacted by on-duty fireman, reported the apparent death a female seated inside his truck. Fireman attempted CPR on the woman without success as the man drove away before identifying himself or the woman. She was pronounced dead at the firehouse.

20130514_Harrison-Daniel-JohnDeputies were called to investigate and within several hours identified the deceased woman as 25-year-old Tiffany McGinnis of Rimrock. Using information obtained from the effort to learn the woman’s name and background, detectives contacted 30-year-old Daniel Harrison who resides in the 5700 block of Laura Lane, Rimrock. Detectives identified Harrison’s truck as the vehicle seen by the firemen earlier. Harrison acknowledged that Tiffany was his roommate for the past several days. He told them that yesterday, after returning home from work, he found Tiffany on the side of a nearby residence, incoherent and distraught. He escorted her back to his house and she eventually fell asleep in her bedroom after dinner. He was aware Tiffany took prescription medications and thought the drugs were having an effect on her behavior.

When Daniel awoke Sunday morning, he checked on Tiffany and found her unresponsive and cold to the touch. He claimed he could not find his phone, so he put her in his truck and drove to the local fire station. Detectives conducted a search of Daniel’s home as part of the ongoing investigation.

Daniel was eventually arrested on a felony charge of Abandonment of a Dead Body and Tampering with Physical Evidence. He was booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center and released on a $3000 bond. Cause of death is pending a report from the Medical Examiner.
