Pick up a
Red Rock Pass when you first get into town. There are signs for them
and any hotel front desk clerk can direct you where to find them. You will need
this to park on the National Forest. Keep in mind that the
Red Rock State Park requires a separate fee. |
| 2. |
STOP!!! There are many pullouts along the road that offer panoramic photo ops
and let you walk directly into the Coconino National Forest. |
| 3. |
Drive the speed limit and pull over to let traffic go by. I know that Sedona
offers a spectacular view in almost every direction and that driving into town
can be an awe inspiring experience, but the locals need to get to work. A little
courtesy on the road will keep the locals off your bumper and allow for a more
pleasant trip. |
| 4. |
EAT!!! Sedona has some great dining establishments that your
concierge can tell you about.

| 5. |
Go on an adventure. Whether it is a hot air balloon
excursion, a jeep tour, or just a hike in the Red Rocks,
make the most of your time here. There is so much to do. |
| 6. |
Plan out your day. On a busy weekend the traffic can make it
difficult to get from A to B so if you have a plan for the
day you can avoid the back and forth. |
| 7. |
Shop around. There are deals to be had if you take the time
to window shop . |
| 8. |
Don’t miss Oak Creek Canyon. Take 89A north of Sedona and
you'll drive winding switchbacks. 13 miles north of Sedona the road climbs
700 feet in 2.3 miles to the Oak Creek Vista, a scenic area overlooking Oak
Creek Canyon. |

Tipping is not a city in China. Most of the employees that
help to make your vacation enjoyable make their living on
the gratuity of others. |
| 10. |
And my final tip is to SLOW DOWN and enjoy the journey. Its
easy to GO, GO, GO
and miss the simple pleasure of all the peace and quiet we have to offer. |
