Clarkdale AZ (February 12, 2013) – The Yavapai College Verde campus’s new community education coordinator, Nancy Gottschalk, is putting together a delightful selection of engaging non-credit courses for the Verde community. With classes starting in March, Gottschalk plans to make as many classes as possible available throughout the Verde Valley.

Cottonwood AZ (February 8, 2013) – On Monday, February 11 at 11 a.m., members of the Cottonwood Economic Development Council (CEDC) will meet at the Yavapai College Verde Campus (601 Black Hills Drive, Clarkdale) to present a $10,000 pledge for the college’s Southwest Wine Center (SWC).

Verde Valley AZ (February 7, 2013) – The Yavapai College nursing program successfully completed the accreditation site-visit review by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) and the Arizona State Board of Nursing this week. The team’s recommendation is for continued accreditation of the program. The site-visit team also recommended that the Yavapai College program be reviewed again in eight years as part of its continuing accreditation. Read More→

Leakey, who calls Sedona home when she is not in Africa, has observed and studied the wildlife, ecology and people of central Africa throughout her career. Clarkdale AZ (December 2, 2012) – Registration is now open for courses in the Fast-Track Management Program at the Yavapai College Clarkdale campus. The program is geared toward working adults in the Sedona, Cottonwood and Clarkdale area to build managerial skills, confidence and professional recognition. Grant will support hundreds of northern Arizona veterans over the next five years
Verde Valley AZ (November 1, 2012) – Yavapai College has received a $1.25 million grant over five years to fund its Veterans Upward Bound (VUB)-TRiO program for qualified veterans in Northern Arizona. The college is one of just 51 colleges in the country to receive a Veterans Upward Bound grant from the U. S. Department of Education.
“We are extremely proud of our Veterans Upward Bound-TRiO Program at Yavapai College,” said Jane Hersh, District Director for TRiO Programs. “This grant will allow us to continue supporting eligible veterans by giving them the tools, resources and encouragement they need to reach their educational and occupational goals.” Read More→

Verde Valley AZ (September 23, 2012) – Yavapai College is joining Project Civil Discourse as a simulcast site for a statewide forum on three key initiatives on the ballot in the November election. The discussion, called “Mapping Arizona’s Future,” will be September 27, 6-9 p.m. at Yavapai College Sedona Center for Arts & Technology, 4215 Arts Village Drive, Sedona. The winter term begins January 22, 2013 and ends March 8, 2013. Verde Valley AZ (August 31, 2012) – The Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Prescott (JCF) will provide 96 full tuition and fee scholarships over the next five years to Yavapai College students in the nursing and radiologic technology programs. Prescott AZ (August 30, 2012) - Military veterans throughout northern Arizona who are looking for help to further their education beyond high school are encouraged to contact the Veterans Upward Bound TRIO program (VUB) at Yavapai College.
The federally funded VUB program is designed to motivate and assist veterans in developing academic and other skills needed for acceptance and success in college. Among the services offered to qualifying veterans are admissions counseling, academic refresher training, career planning and advising. Sedona AZ (August 16, 2012) – Yavapai College’s growing film program is beginning the school year with new students and a new name, the Sedona Film School at Yavapai College. The film program will remain located in the Sedona Center for Arts & Technology in Sedona.
The new name was proposed and approved by the Film School Advisory Board and was supported in discussions among leaders of the City of Sedona and Yavapai College. The goal of the ongoing discussions is to elevate the role of the college’s film school in the city’s future and vice versa. Read More→
Prescott AZ (August 13, 2012) – The public is invited to help Yavapai College kick off its fall semester with a “Yavapalooza” evening of entertainment on Friday, August 24 that includes live music, specialty acts and interactive viewing of the blockbuster movie “Hunger Games.”

Verde Valley AZ (August 7, 2012) – Students enrolling in fall classes at the Yavapai College Verde Valley campus in Clarkdale will be the initial beneficiaries of a $15.5 million campus renovation that is taking place this summer.
Buildings and classrooms are being renovated with the latest technology to enhance both on-site and distance educational opportunities. Renovations also include a better layout of campus and buildings for the streamlining of college functions.
