New Sedona Post Office driveway open March 31
Project 1 (Village of Oak Creek)
Sedona, AZ - Final preparations are wrapping
up to switch two-way traffic to the new alignment in the Forest.
This week, the new irrigation system will be installed where the
salvaged trees have been replanted. Once traffic is switched, the
existing alignment will be reconstructed. Upon completion,
northbound traffic will be separated from southbound traffic, each
traveling on its own alignment.
Paving Operations in the Village of Oak Creek
Paving operations are ongoing in the Village of Oak Creek depending
on weather, and the roadway is nearing completion. In the early
summer, a layer of rubberized asphalt will be laid on top of the new
pavement. This 1/2 inch layer is more temperature sensitive than
regular pavement, which accounts for the timing!
High Visibility Crosswalks at Cortez
High visibility crosswalks have been installed at Cortez to
encourage pedestrians to use the crosswalks. This was done because
many pedestrians were crossing through the middle of the roundabout
instead of the designated crosswalks.

New Box Culvert Work Near Morgan Wash
A total of three box culverts and one retaining wall are under
construction simultaneously. This week, a new box culvert will be
started in the area of Morgan Wash. Progress has been swift on these
underground structures, which is good news. The underground works
comprises approximately 75% of this improvement project!
New Post Office Driveway
This week, the new Sedona Post Office driveway will be complete.

post office access.

Sedona Business District Work Starts March 31
ADOT representatives will be visiting with businesses this week to
inform them of work beginning between Ranger Road and the Y on March
31. To start, storm drain will be laid from the Y to Ranger on the
west side of the road, starting at the Y and working south. The
installation of the storm drain from start to finish should take
approximately 1 month. After that is done, crews will move on to
dirt work, building the grade, and paving, after which they will
start work in the roundabout at the Y.
