Project 1
Sedona, AZ - Work will begin now at 6:30 a.m.
to maximize the use of daylight hours.
Completion of Curb and Gutter
Depending on weather, crews should be completing all curb and gutter
work on Project 1 (except the reconstructed northbound Forest
alignment) this week. A total of more then 15 miles of curb and
gutter have been installed to date.
Traffic
Switch to Forest
Two-way traffic is scheduled to be switched onto the new southbound
alignment through the Coconino National Forest on Monday, March
24, depending on weather.
The photo shows salvaged trees being replanted to
prepare for the switch. Two-way traffic will run on the new
alignment while the existing road through the forest is shut down to
be reconstructed. Please note that while the northbound alignment is
closed for reconstruction, the trailheads and scenic pullouts along
that alignment will be closed as well. The newly expanded Bell Rock
Vista, and the new Yavapai Point scenic pullout will be available
for use.
Project 2
No New Activities This Week
Work will continue in the areas of the Sedona post office and the
area from Poco Diablo north to Mallard. As always, two-way traffic
continues to flow.
Post Office Circulation to Change Week of March 24
The new post office driveway should be complete the week of March
24. The Public Outreach team will provide notice throughout the
Sedona Community of the new post office access.
Work to Begin in Business District Week of March 31
Crews are scheduled to begin work on the storm drain between Ranger
and the Y during the week of March 31. ADOT representatives are
meeting with businesses in the area to prepare for the work. Two-way
traffic and business access will be maintained throughout the
project.
