ADOT SR 179 construction update for week of June 29, 2009
Sedona, AZ - (June 26, 2009) -
Bowstring Drive closure will occur again next week
to continue the new Arizona Water line hook up.
After successful pressure testing, the new water
line will become fully operational and Bowstring
Drive will re-open. The neighborhood can also be
accessed by Arrow.
Oak Creek Bridge Work
Drilled shafts for pier 2 and abutment 2 on the west
half of the bridge are in progress.
Pedestrian Bridge at Oak Creek
The pedestrian bridge is complete; however, there
were complications with the City of Sedona sewer
line installation at Schnebly Hill Road. The sewer
is now operational and all of the utilities will be
buried and a portion of the sidewalks approaching
the pedestrian bridge will be poured. A temporary
access to the pedestrian bridge will be open for the
July 4th weekend.
Preparation for Wall Work at Poco Diablo
Minor lane shifts have occurred and construction of
retaining walls adjacent to Poco Diablo has begun.
Access to Poco Diablo at Doodlebug and Oak Creek
Cliffs will remain open.
Morgan Road Roundabout
Southbound SR 179 will be paved on Saturday, June 27
from Bowstring to Morgan. The roundabout at
Arrow/Morgan is planned to be constructed beginning
Monday, June 29 at 7 a.m., with crews working 24
hours a day for two days. Flaggers will be in place
throughout the night to help motorists through this
area.
Holiday Weekend Work Hours
Construction work will wrap up by 12 p.m. on Friday,
July 3 and resume on Monday, July 6 at 6 a.m. Please
have a safe and fun holiday weekend!
