Sedona schools get three phase make-over Sedona, AZ - June 23, 2008 - In 2007, voters approved a $73.4 million bond issue for improvements to all Sedona-Oak Creek school district facilities, including Sedona Red Rock High School, West Sedona School, Big Park School and the Brewer Road administrative facility. Construction is to occur in three phases over a 42-month period and has already commenced at the high school and West Sedona School. The School District has formed a citizen oversight committee that has been meeting once per month since February. The committee’s role is to review and comment on progress of the design and construction and be an interface between the community and the School District. Councilor Nancy Scagnelli and Community Development Director, John O’Brien, are members of the committee. Although the City of Sedona does not have zoning jurisdiction of the proposed construction, School District officials have expressed their desire to work closely with the city regarding all aspects of the project.
