18th Annual Sedona Arts Festival - October 4 and 5, 2008

Sedona, AZ - August 23, 2008 - The Sedona Arts Festival will celebrate its 18th Annual event on October 4th and 5th, 2008. Starting off with a brand new entrance to a time-tested exceptional event, this year’s Festival will move to the baseball field at Sedona Red Rock High School. The new location will create a spectacular showcase for the wide variety of juried fine artists and outstanding live entertainment. The Sedona Arts Festival was recently named one of the best festivals of its size in the country by American Style Magazine.

“We’ve been working hard over the past few years to create a unique fine arts festival worthy of Sedona’s reputation as a premier art destination,” explained Gayle Taylor, Executive Director.

Sedona’s internationally known beauty has long been a draw for artists and those who love fine art. Bringing over 5,000 people to our community, the Festival’s participating artisans come from all over the country and are juried in by a top notch group of experienced aficionados. New names, returning favorites and popular local artists will create a diverse mix of sizes, styles and mediums for visitors to browse and acquire. From jewelry to ceramics, fiber to sculpture, photography to wood, there is something for every taste and budget.

SVAC is comprised of over 200 professional and emerging artists from the greater Sedona area who work in 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional art encompassing oils, acrylics, watercolor, fiber, wood, glass, clay, metal, film and mixed media. Made possible by funding from the Sedona Arts Center/Marilyn Sunderman Legacy Fund and the Arizona Commission on the Arts, the Community Art Tent will provide a venue supporting our local artists’ community which is a key aspect of the Arts Festival’s overall mission. SVAC will exhibit the work of their member artists and create a Communal Artist Social Area providing an area for all of the participating Festival artists to relax, mingle and exchange information about the business.

In addition to a stunning visual art experience, guests can look forward to enjoying live music throughout the Festival. The entertainment portion of the Festival has also been growing into a highlighted feature over the past few years.
