The Arizona Cardinals, 2008 National
Football Conference Champions, are
making a special complementary
appearance at the 2009 Sedona St.
Partick's Parade & Festival with two
players, two cheerleaders and Team
Mascot Big Red. |
AZ Cardinals to appear at
Sedona St. Patrick’s Parade & Festival on March 14
SEDONA, AZ - March 6, 2009 -
Rev up the day with a walk or a run in the 11th
Annual Shamrocks in the Red Rocks One mile Fun
Run/Walk and 5K Road Race on March 14. Register at
7:30am on the corner of Jordan Road and Mesquite
Avenue for an 8 am start. If not pre-registered, the
on-site entry fee for Adults is $25 and Children (12
and under) is $15. All participants will receive a
T-shirt, refreshments and race results. Awards will
be given to 1st and 2nd place finishers, along with
an award for the best St. Patrick’s Day costume.
The 39th Annual Sedona St. Patrick’s Day Parade
starts at 10:30 am. The Parade Title Sponsor is
Cowboy Club and Barking Frog Restaurants.
Grandstands are available along Jordan Road near the
end of the parade route, thanks to the City of
Sedona, or you can bring your own chairs. Master of
Ceremonies, John Conway of Audioworxx will announce
the Parade & Festival from a new stage near the
grandstands, and Event Programs will be available
that morning.
This “Celebration of Youth & the Young at Heart”
with the theme of “We Lads & Lasses,” begins at
Jordan Historical Park and parades along Jordan Road
to Mesquite Avenue. Grand Marshal Tom O’Halleran
will lead the line-up of dignitaries, a color guard,
bagpipers, bands, dancers, clowns, animals, vehicles
and walking troupes from the entire Verde Valley and
Flagstaff, plus a special appearance from the AZ
Cardinals – 2008 NFC Champs.
The Parade Festival begins immediately following the
parade until 3pm. Stay to enjoy more free
festivities thanks to A Day in the West, Festival
Title Sponsor, all set up next to the end of the
parade in Sacajawea Plaza and BR Clinic Parking
lots. The Festival will open with an Irish
traditional bagpipe performance by Michael Donelson,
Pipe Major, and Martha Shideler.

Our live entertainment includes a
variety of performers.
Dublin Soul features Karl
Jones on vocals and guitar, Aaron Tyler on mandolin,
Chris on bass and Rich on drums.
Talented youth performers include
Sedona Charter School String Group, directed by
Clarence Shaw and Light Vibe Dance Troop.
The free children’s activities
include: Puff the Dragon Bouncy Castle, Face
Painting by Christy, Balloon Animals by Gary, Exotic
Animals from Out of Africa, Knighting by Celtic
Warrior Kailen, Visit with an Irish Maiden &
Fairies, Lucky Leprechaun Fishing Hole by First
Student, Inc., and Color the “Parade Mural.”
The festival food court features
food & refreshment by Barking Frog and Cowboy Club
Restaurants. Thanks to Oak Creek Brewing Company,
there will be a Beer Garden featuring Oak Creek
Brews of course!
