Red RockAppella’s Spring Showcase on May 18
Sedona, AZ - May 1, 2008 - Are you ready
for a trip down memory lane through music in the
movies over the last century? Do you want revisit those magical moments that
captured your heart in the stories, music, and
lyrics written at the time?
Then you can’t miss Red RockAppella’s Spring
Showcase: “Music from the Movies” on May 18,
2008 at 2:30 p.m. at St. John Vianney, 180
Soldier Pass Road, Sedona.
You’ll probably
recognize most of the tunes and remember the
movies they were in, and we hope your favorite
is among them.
Red RockAppella Chorus, in existence for 1 ½
years now with members from all of Northern
Arizona, has recently returned from successfully
competing in its first Sweet Adelines regional
competition in Phoenix. Competitors in the region
are both large and small choruses from Southern
California, Arizona, New Mexico, and West Texas,
and the region is internationally known for
excellence in education and vocal training of
women in 4-part a cappella harmony.
At this Spring Showcase, along with Red
RockAppella Chorus, the featured performers are
“Sedona Swing” Quartet. Brought together by
their love of singing, Sedona Swing has become a
popular performing group in Sedona and the Verde
Valley in the five years they have been singing
together. Each of these women have won awards at
both regional and international levels in
numerous quartets and choruses. They are some of
Red RockAppella’s founders and include: Lynnell
Diamond (baritone), Anne Uruburu (bass), Claire
Westberg (lead), and Penny Turner (tenor).

Also at this showcase will be special guests
from the Harmony on the Rocks Men’s BBShop
Quartet, “We’re 300 and Holding” featuring John
McDougald (tenor), Tom Doeller (lead), Bill
Sabina (baritone), and Don Tautkus (bass). And
very popular Arizona DJ, vocalist and
entertainer Jeanie Carroll, who will engage us
and warm our hearts with her vocal talents.
Red RockAppella is all jazzed up, and ready to
rock in new music and costumes! We’re looking
forward to sharing the music and spirit of songs
in movies over the last century with this spring
showcase performance in Sedona.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door
or reserved in advance for will call. See any
chorus member or visit a Red RockAppella
rehearsal on Monday evenings 6:30 p.m. – 9:30
p.m. at Oak Creek Country Club, Village of Oak
Creek (VOC) in the Community room.
