2 Folk rock bands play Oak Creek Brewery in Sedona on November 13, 2009

Tempe Arizona folk band Dry River Yacht Club
Dry River Yacht Club will play Oak Creek Brewery on Friday, November 13, 2009 from 8pm - midnight.

SEDONA, AZ (November 3, 2009) - Paper Bird headlines along with Dry River Yacht Club who will play live from 8pm - midnight at Oak Creek Brewery, Friday, November 13.  This is DRYC's sophomore visit to Sedona, returning after rocking out the closing set on Saturday night at this year's Gumption Festival. This is Paper Birds first visit of what we hope will be many to Sedona. Oak Creek Brewery is located at 2050 Yavapi drive in Sedona, Arizona.

Tempe Arizona’s Dry River Yacht Club has been rolling into cities across the United States bringing their eclectic brand of gypsy western folk rock with them. Behind the amazing range of lead vocalist/accordionist Garnet, who already has drawn comparisons to the likes of Ani DiFranco and Bjork, the band utilizes a classical instrumentation that includes bassoon, bass clarinet, french horn, cello, violin, acoustic guitar, and assorted percussions.

Dry River Yacht  Club brings a well-orchestrated, transcendental dance party that is entirely their own. With 2008/2009 accolades including “Best Indie Rock Band” and “Best Band with Assorted Instruments” from Phoenix New Times, a “pair of successful SXSW performances,” and a 2009 West Coast Tour in support of their debut full-length release “TheUgliest Princess,” DRYC is onto something special.

Standing firm in no existing genre, Paper Bird's backbone is their songwriting, musicianship and a general allergy to all limitations and trends. With seven members and no leader, this band is pulled in every direction imaginable, but thanks to their unique instrumentation this Colorado based group is able to merge their spontaneous creativity into one, solid sound.

Folk band Paper Bird
Paper Bird will play Oak Creek Brewery on Friday, November 13, 2009 from 8pm- midnight.

The members of the band- Sarah Anderson, vocals and trumpet; sisters Esmé and Genny Patterson, vocals; Tyler Archuletta, trombone; Paul DeHaven, guitar; Caleb Summeril, banjo; Macon Terry, upright bass - bring a Folk, Americana sound that pays homage to the American Bandstand of the 1950’s, with a hint of Roaring 20’s flare. But don’t be fooled by their old-timey sound, Paper Bird maintains the indie image and resonance of the current age with a progressive and complex style that keeps them on the forefront of the music scene.
