Sedona, AZ -- Please join us at Mii amo, a destination spa at
Enchantment, to meet best-selling author Perry Garfinkel for an
informal guest lecture and book signing, Friday, August 10, 6:30 –
7:30 p.m., in Mii amo Library.
A longtime New York Times and National Geographic magazine
contributor, Garfinkel has been covering the convergence of East and
West for more than 30 years – and he's been falling off and on the
meditation cushion for just as long.
His 2006 national bestseller, "Buddha or Bust! Taking the Buddha's
‘Truths’ Out of the Monastery and Into Your Life”" is the ultimate
result of 20 weeks he spent on worldwide assignment for Geographic
in 2005 covering the socially engaged Buddhism Movement.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama wrote of the book: "Perry Garfinkel
presents Buddhism as a practical approach to human problems."
Garfinkel, who has been called "a raconteur of the Dharma, Woody
Allen in the footsteps of the Buddha,” is a year-round resident of
Martha's Vineyard and may be found virtually at www.buddhaorbust.com.
Please be part of the gathering as he shares his “Buddha or Bust”
take-away lessons with honesty and humor. It promises to be
enlightening and enjoyable.
