The Spirit Art Gallery will be featuring Leo Shakespeare, who builds
working sundials that will magically pull you into a world of peace,
stillness and graceful order. Each dial is unique and designed for a
specific place, so each one is a new delight to make. The
possibilities
of form are virtually unlimited. Leo has crafted sundials in
porcelain, and carved stone and tiles, using copper, bronze, stone
and clay for the gnomons. Leo believes that most gardens and homes
need more than one dial. Entertainment will be provided by
award-winning musician William Hoshal. William, who has been
influenced by R. Carlos Nakai, Robert Tree
Cody and Douglas Spotted Eagle. He incorporates the traditional
native flute into the harmonic and rhythmic structures of jazz and
contemporary classical music.
One of the most accomplished of Jerome artists is Derryl Day.
Derryl Day Art Studio & Gallery is located in the historic Old
Jerome High School. Derryl has hiked over 750 miles throughout the
Grand Canyon. For over 25 years, he has dropped into the Canyon to
paint and explore its trails and ridgelines. Visit a collection of
paintings at
www.derryldayartstudio.com and contact Derryl at 928-634-2072 or

Jerome welcomes its newest artist who is the owner of Lola, a
gallery with a distinctive New Orleans flair. “JoJo”, also known as
Joe Christopher, used to sell his paintings in Jackson Square, in
the heart of that magical city. After Katrina, he left the bayou
country for
higher ground and found the highest, driest place he could ? Jerome,
Arizona. He now is a full time resident who runs his shop and
enchants his visitors with his folk art paintings. Visit Lola at 420
Hull Avenue in Jerome.
On the evening of Jerome’s April 5th Art Walk, Pura Vida Gallery is
proud to host a showing of Sedona Ceramic Artist Firuse Stalcup’s
newest work. This show, titled “Oceanic Realms,” highlights Firuse’s
most recent works in Paper Clay.
Firuse has been creating architectural, functional, sculptural and
decorative ceramics and employing raku firing techniques since 1985.
A background in Chemistry has helped her to develop trademark glazes
and her visionary energy has allowed her to move freely in all
aspects of the ceramic art form. From Diatoms to Mermaids, Firuse’s
most recent body of work will entice you to enter the oceanic realms
of you fantasies, all the while being surrounded by the high desert
charm of central Arizona.
Come join Sedona’s beloved ceramic artist for an undersea
experience. Firuse will be on hand from 5-8pm on the evening
of the Art Walk to discuss her work. In addition, Pura Vida Gallery
will host its infamous champagne and chocolate reception for the
attendees. Pura Vida Gallery is located at 501 School Street in
Jerome, just three doors down from the Red Rooster Café. You may
reach the gallery at 634-0937.

DeLong. Conceptual thumbnail sketches will be on display,
alongside the studio paintings which sprang from them. Select figure
drawing studies will be featured, as well as some plein air
