Orrin Hudson
Chess champion teaches Sedona youth how to make the right moves in life on Aug 30 & 31

Sedona, AZ-- On August 30 and 31st from 1:30-3:00 p.m. at First Piggy Park, creek side at Los Abrigados Resort, Orrin Hudson, a former Alabama state trooper and chess
champion, will teach Sedona youth that “living life” is about carefully making the right moves and learning from the wrong ones.

Orrin Hudson says “chess teaches people to look at problems from different  perspectives, and to think before you “move” or act. Every move you make has consequences – positive or negative. In that respect, it is exactly like life.”

Hudson is the Founder/Director of Be Someone, Inc. (www.besomeone.org), a non-profit organization that trains youth to make winning moves in life with the help of chess.

First Piggy Park, recipient of the 2006 Keep Sedona Beautiful Award of Excellence for park development, is located on Los Abrigados Resort property at 160 Portal Lane. The park features a larger than life chess set along with a multitude of seated chess tables. “We’re delighted and excited about pursuing strategic alternatives with Be Someone, Inc. and look forward to Orrin’s first visit to Sedona,” said Joe Martori, Chairman of ILX Resorts.

Many studies show that children exposed to chess perform better on exams and are even better behaved. Chess stimulates the power of the imagination and calculation and improves concentration. You can’t win a game you don’t play.
