Shirley
Eichten Albrecht is an
awarding winning fiber artist/ basket weaver.
She is represented by the Sedona Arts Center and Enchantment Resort in
Sedona, and is on the faculty at the Sedona Arts Center.
Her move to Sedona,
with its strong creative energy, has helped her to create new designs
such as blending Raku with basket weaving to create unique sculptures as
well as using antlers and gourds to create stunning wall hangings and
sculptures. Says Shirley, “Each piece that I weave becomes a journey. They have
their own voice that speaks to me. It is up to me to listen. I felt the
concept of bringing together artists of the Sedona Community in an event
such as Inspired 09 was a wonderful opportunity to support the arts. My
husband, Robert Albrecht, is also an artist and has been very
positive for me and my work. We consult with each other on a regular
basis. It is important to have someone who understands not only you but
your art and can encourage you along the way.”
Robert Albrecht
is a photographic and mixed media artist. Says Robert, "I look for the
beauty in people, places and things. Trained in the European style of
lighting, Albrecht gained a reputation as a lighting expert early in his
career. His style became recognizable, which places him in demand among
those seeking his unique look. His works have been published worldwide
in commercial, fashion and consumer publications.
Jack Durrwachter uses an extensive
mechanical background to explore the possibilities and flexibilities of
a universal form, the ellipse. He uses the ellipse to express movement,
flow, pressure and color, and traverses through the painting with
emotional freedom. Jack worked in the automotive design field for 17
years. In 1971 he began his fine art painting career. Jack's paintings
reflect the inner structure and draftsmanship necessary in creating
sound art. He is a master-colorist with versatility in subject matter
presenting representational as well as non-representational (abstract)
art.
The thirty-one
