Jeff Shipper (l) and Shondra Jepperson looking for Mr. and Ms. Right in "Maybe Baby, It's You" at the Canyon Moon Theatre running from Nov 8 thru Dec 2nd.

Find your soul-mate at Canyon Moon Theatre in Sedona

Sedona, AZ - Do you believe in soul-mates? Most surveys state that a whopping 87% of people believe that they will find a soul-mate. So, it should some as no surprise most of us think that all you need is love.

Beginning November 8th, anyone who is feeling a bit down - or even extremely despondent about ever meeting the ideal mate, should hurry over to the Canyon Moon Theatre to get a transfusion of positive thinking. Their new show, the hysterically funny “Maybe Baby, It’s You,” explores this search for that most elusive of entities – the soul-mate.

“Maybe Baby, It's You” has an infectious charm as it chronicles how fully ridiculous we can be in our search for love. In a series of sketches running the gamut from flirtatious nerds in high school to divorced bickerers in their dotage, the play takes a raucous ride through male-female relationships. From a blind date between a mild-mannered Midwestern man and the Greek goddess of vengeance Medea, to a film noir couple who realize that their razor-sharp banter is hiding their fear and vulnerability, this delightful comedy is sure to make audience members look at their own relationships from a whole new angle. Often poignant, occasionally painful, the play makes nearly always funny observations about love.

Jeff Shipper (l) and Shondra Jepperson looking for Mr. and Ms. Right in "Maybe Baby, It's You" at the Canyon Moon Theatre running from Nov 8 thru Dec 2nd.

The play is told in a series of fast-paced vignettes with two of Sedona’s favorite comic actors, Shondra Jepperson and Jeff Shipper, portraying eleven couples looking for their perfect Mr. or Ms. Right. Jepperson’s other credits at Canyon Moon include “Suds,” “Talking With,” “37 Postcards,” and “Sabotage in Sedona.” She is also the co-anchor for Red Rock TV Channel 16.

Shipper who last appeared onstage at Canyon Moon Theatre in “37 Postcards,” was also seen in “The Importance of Being Ernest," “Proof” and “The Lion in Winter.” He also is a founding member of Divine Improvidance, Sedona’s celebrated long form improvisational theatre troupe that has performed in New York, Toronto and Las Vegas.

“Maybe Baby, It’s You” is directed by television and theatre veteran Gail Edwards. She officially “retired” from showbiz in 1994 while concluding her last two roles portraying the engaged “Vicky Larson” on ABC’s Full House and “Sharon Lemure,” the fast-talking mother of “Six” on NBC’s Blossom. She also starred as “Dot Higgins” on ABC’s "It’s a Living" as well as playing in many movies-of-the-week. Additionally she has numerous guest-star appearances to her credit including such hits as "Touched by an Angel," "Night Court", "MASH," "Taxi," "Happy Days," and the premier episode of the "Amazing Stories," directed by Steven Spielberg. Most recently she graced the stage at Canyon Moon in “Charlie Cox runs with Scissors.”

If you are looking for a lighthearted evening out, something to take a date or out-of-town friends to, or if you have ever suffered through the dating experience at all, you are bound to find this show thoroughly enjoyable. Reservations are recommended as it is expected to sell out quickly.
