Local philanthropist makes major donation to Boys
and Girls Clubs
Sedona, AZ – Boys and Girls Clubs of Northern Arizona (BGCNA)
is the recipient of a $50,000 donation by the Max James Family
Foundation. This lead gift was given during the Boys & Girls Clubs
“It Just Takes One” annual campaign which ended on Dec. 31 and
helped raise over $88,000 this year to support the kids and clubs in
the local community.
With his generous gift, Max James has joined the very prestigious
Jeremiah Milbank Society of donors for Boys & Girls Clubs. This is a
national society of local leaders and philanthropists who have made
an annual undesignated gift to their local Boys & Girls Clubs of
$10,000 or more in a calendar year. For more information on
membership to the Jeremiah Milbank Society, log onto the BGCNA
website at www.apositiveplace.org
Not only has his passion for youth shown in his contributions to
BGCNA, but also through his Camp Soaring Eagle (www.campsoaringeagle.org)
which is a new local camp in the works for seriously ill children.
James is also a huge supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
“My family foundation is focused on kids. I choose to contribute
because it is the right thing to do. Since we will soon be residents
of this community, we feel it is important to contribute to a local
organization that helps build character in youth,” said James.
Because of his never-ending support for youth, James was honored as
the 2007 Youth Philanthropist of the Year by BGCNA.
“We are very appreciative of the kindness, generosity, and faithful
support of Mr. James and his foundation. His leadership will have a
tremendous impact on youth in our service communities. We hope
others will be inspired and follow his example by investing in kids
and the clubs. Max is an amazing guy with a tremendous heart for
kids.” stated Todd Bale, BGCNA’s Executive Director.
