Party hearty at Bistro Bella Terra in Sedona
Family style restaurant offers hearty food, live music, in a
comfortable and spacious atmosphere overlooking Sedona's red rocks
by Carl Jackson
Sedona, AZ - July 27, 2008 - On one of the last nights
before our Sedona neighbors headed off to Europe for a three year
job assignment, our party of five decided to give restaurant Bistro
Bella Terra by the Hyatt Pinon
Pointe at 101 Hwy 89A in Sedona a try.
For those who want hearty food and good wine in a
comfortable atmosphere, you won't be disappointed.
We began the Saturday evening with a drink at the large
bar that greets visitors as you enter the wooden front doors of the
restaurant.
The bar is long
and sleek with a big screen television behind. The
Ultimate Fighting Championship was on when we were there.
The first impression upon entering the restaurant is that it is
large, open, and airy. The tall ceilings and large dining area
make the restaurant ideal for large groups and parties.
We started with some nice wine and martinis at
the bar before being seated at a large table by a
window with good views of the red rocks.
There were also tables on an outdoor patio overlooking the same.
Jazz musician Walter Flory tickled the ivories with some cool
jazz and vocals, while his cellist partner, Selywin Reams plucked
behind. They play every Friday and Saturday night from 6:30 pm
- 9:30 pm, and there is no cover charge.
Every Wednesday from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm you can catch solo acoustic
singer / songwriter/ guitarist Alex Ogburn. The hostess that seated us was smiling and friendly, and our food
service was good. The meal selections are divided into two types: Comfort and
Hearty, depending on how large a portion you want. The food
choices are diverse and nouveau, ranging from standard fresh salads,
sandwiches like Chicago style hot dogs, grilled chicken and a bistro
burger; to house favorites like pork osso bucco, pan seared crispy
duck breast and wild alaskan coho salmon; to a variety of pasta and
steak selections. Meal prices range from as low as $8.00 for a pulled pork sandwich
($12 for the Hearty potion) to $20.00 for a N.Y. strip. Most
meals range from $12-$15. There is also a good wine
selection. Our group found their meals filling and good tasting.
Bistro Bella
Terra is open 7 days a week from 11am to close.
There is a Happy
Hour every night from 7pm - 9pm at the bar with a special menu.
Every Thursday is Ladies' Night. Located at
101 N. Hwy 89-A, Ste F29,
Sedona, Arizona 86336.
