    logo_sacSedona AZ (November 19, 2013) – The Sedona Arts Center has three very exciting opportunities for member and non-member artists to participate in the coming months! Artists can submit to the Small Works Show, an all-new Portrait Exhibit and the 34th Annual Juried Members Exhibition!

    Small Works Show – Deadline November 25, 2013

    They say great things come in small packages! The Small Works Show comes at a time when patrons are looking for great holiday gifts or small works for themselves! This exhibition is open to all member artists and is not juried. Each artist can submit up to two (2) small works no larger than 12”x14” for wall work or 6”x6”x6” for pedestal work.  Take in deadline for these works is Monday, November 25, 2013 from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. at the Sedona Arts Center’s Fine Art Gallery in Uptown Sedona.     Portrait Exhibition – Deadline December 13, 2013

    Mark your calendars for a return of the performing arts at the Sedona Arts Center on December 20 and 21, 2013! For two performances only, Red Earth Theatre will present Painting Churches: A Play in Two Acts, written by Tina Howe and directed by Kate Hawkes. The Churches are a family (not a house of worship); the story revolves around daughter Meg’s desire to paint a portrait of her parents.

    Enter stage right: Calling all portrait artists!

    You are invited to participate in a companion exhibition in the Special Exhibition Gallery on the days of the performances (December 20–21). This exhibition is open to Sedona Arts Center members and non-members who make portraits of people or animals—your subject must have a pulse. All mediums qualify and must be ready for display. They may be for sale or not for sale. If for sale the selling price will split will be 70% artist: 30% SAC. One submission per artist.     34th Annual Juried Members Exhibition – Deadline January 10, 2014

    20131119_David-Simmer---Down-Time1Member artists are encouraged to submit their work by January 10, 2014 for the 34th Annual Juried Members Exhibition to be on display from March 4–April 1, 2014. This exhibition is open to all members professional and emerging in these categories: sculpture; ceramics; drawing (in colored pencil, pastel); painting (in oil and acrylic); wood, fiber; 3D mixed media; photography; glass and jewelry.  Professional artists will jury each category, with cash awards for Best of Show and first place prizes within each category for both groups professional and emerging.     Visit Sedona Arts Center first, where more than 400 artists teach, study and follow their passion! Sedona Arts Center features a new themed exhibit each month with truly outstanding local artists. We have the largest selection of fine art in all styles and mediums you will find in Sedona! From exquisite jewelry to bronze sculptures, we have something for everyone. Our Fine Art Gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with Opening Receptions every First Friday of the month from 5 to 8 p.m.  Sedona Arts Center is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit educational institution dedicated to nurturing creative discovery, learning and sharing through arts education and artistic development.
