Two-day festival, originally planned for March 21-22, canceled due to public safety

Town of Camp VerdeCamp Verde AZ (March 17, 2020) – Following the White House and CDC recommendations of cancelling all events with 10+ attendees, the Verde Valley Wine Consortium and the Town of Camp Verde has made the decision to cancel their 20th Annual Camp Verde Pecan & Wine Festival, originally scheduled for March 21-22, 2020 in Camp Verde, Arizona.

“While there have been no Coronavirus cases confirmed in Yavapai County, attendees travel from across the state for this festival and we want to ensure the health and safety of not only all guests but all participating wineries, musicians and vendors alike,” said Michael Marshall, Camp Verde Parks and Recreation Manager. “No future date will be be put in place for this year’s event and all tickets holders will be receiving full refunds within the next 1-2 days.”

Originally expecting their “biggest crowds in the festival’s 20-year history” as per Marshall in an earlier statement, the town will now miss out on the thousands of visitors that not only attend the festival but book lodging, dine at area restaurants, and visit local shops and galleries.

“We are saddened to cancel in our 20th year but the public’s health and safety is what is most important. We look forward to planning an even bigger event in 2021,” said Marshall.
