Dear Mayor Adams and Councilors:

The City desperately needs to stop spending money on unnecessary projects. If Mayor Adams would kindly poll Sedona’s businesses and residents, I’m confident he would find what is wanted a great deal more than another park is not having more taxes and/or fee increases. Spending $111,100 of General Fund money–$50.5K in FY 2015 and $60.6K in FY2016–to construct a Bike Skill Parks and then $10,000/year when completed to operate and maintain it is egregious and extremely short-sighted. Cottonwood AZ (October 9, 2013) – A street restriping project is scheduled in Cottonwood starting today through Friday, Oct. 9 – 11.

Striping will between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the following locations: Mingus, Fir, Willard, 10th and Aspen streets.

The work is part of a highway safety improvement project, which consists of restriping specified local roads and crosswalks in Payson, Globe, Sedona, Flagstaff, Cottonwood, and various locations in Apache County.

Verde Valley AZ (October 9, 2013) – Homes for our troops recently joined with the communities of the Verde Valley in breaking ground for the construction of a new home for US Marine Sgt Jordan Maynard, his wife Jennifer and their son, Jay in Cornville, AZ. A national non-profit organization, Homes for Our Troops is dedicated to building specially adapted, no-cost homes for severely injured veterans. Only through generous donations and fundraisers, can the organization continue to build these much needed homes. Sgt Maynard was severely injured in Afghanistan on March 23, 2011 and has spent the last two years recovering at the Army’s Walter Reed Medical Center in Maryland. Read More→
